Second edition of the Marketing Challenge is over

The Marketing Challenge is a one-day lasting marketing game, in which participants have to solve case studies for different aspects of Lodz’s life. It is addressed to students of business-related subjects, who possess not only the knowledge, but also the ability to flexible thinking and are physically fit.

The first edition of the tournament was held in May 2007 and had been highly recognized by both local students and mass-media. The second one took place on April 19, 2008 with participation of 23 double teams registered, composed of 46 students from the University and Polytechnic. The Foundation Project Lodz was the official partner of the event.

The honor patronage was delivered by Mr Jerzy Kropiwnicki, the Mayor of Lodz, prof. Wieslaw Pus – the Dean of the University and prof. Bogdan Gregor – the Dean of its Faculty of Management.
The media partners included: TVP Łódź, TV TOYA, Radio Łódź, Student Radio ŻAK, Students’ portal Semestr and Magazine of Marketing and Sales Brief.

The aim of the contest was to force participants to reveal the new face of Lodz by paying attention to features which might become her future symbols. Players’ task was promoting the city in order to attract tourists and investors. The contest launched at 9 am at the Faculty of Management and ended after 5 pm, when last teams completed their mission. During the game, they had to practically use their know-how in subjects related to Lodz.
