We inform with deep regret that current ‘'Commentary'' died a natural death. Fortunately, it was worthy of death of real phoenix. We give You with great pleasure the first number of new, reborn from ashes ‘'Commentary''. The new layout, new authors and new important topics. Only one thing remained unchanged- intransigence.
In the topic of the number professor Zbigniew Rau shows how important for the world Lady Margaret Thatcher is. Of course it is not a coincidence that we write about it now. On October 16th a ceremony on which Lady Thatcher recieved an honorary doctorate from the University of Lodz took place. On the other hand dr Przemysław Żurawski vel. Grajewski assesses shortly the activity of Minister Radosław Sikorski who abandons Jagiellonian ideas, adopts servile policy towards superpowered Russia. We don't forget either about out hometown, where thanks to President's pseudo-policy Piotrkowska street falls into disrepair and SLD arranges a political cheeck organising a senseless in the face of imminent elections referendum. Agnieszka Kloze, in her as usual great column retreats her words about President Kropiwnicki. In cultural section we encourage to read an article by Przemysław Owczarek, editor of Arteria on emptiness that covers Lodz's part of bookshops' show-windows. Furthermore we publish an article by Mariusz Gorzenia on education market referring to the issue of Academy of Humanities and Economics, essay by Robert Scruton on modernism in architecture and an article by Ludwika Kopytowska on super father.
