Nowadays, discussing different public events (like the parade of equality) we speak a lot about the necessity of being “tolerant” and so-called “political correctness”. It is surprizing that the mass-media consider as intolerant only those individuals, who do not think in “progressive” manner, and – in general – the Poles are regarded as xenophobes. Thus, it is useful to wonder what does it really mean to be tolerant, where are the limits of the tolerance, is it always positive, are we indeed intolerant and, finally, what does it have to do with the political correctness.

I admit that I was surprized by the article „The Beauty of Turbo Chuwing Gum” by Antonio Galdamez Muńoz, that was published in Gazeta Wyborcza on 30 Novermber 2007, launching a dispute over the generation of current 25-year-olds. It was a critical reply to the text written by Janusz Majcherek, as well as to the entire liferstyle of shopping malls and the “Capital” (not the Marx’s one).
