Projekt Łodź
About the project
About the project

Civil Society “Project Lodz” has been established on a basis of a civil activity inspired by The Adam Smith Research Centre, a leading liberal economic think-tank organization in Poland. The idea of preparing draft of civil law, concerning the decrease of an unemployment rate and reforms of public finance involved many social groups across the country. The Project Lodz has become an umbrella organization which united representatives from different circles such as: lawyers, medicine doctors, entrepreneurs, students and many others in the city of Lodz. It has been established to use the intellectual and operational capabilities of its members in order to work for the development and modernization of our city.

Our purpose is to link to the historical tradition of “the Promised Land” and to make Lodz the most important economical, cultural and academical centre in the Eastern Europe. Project Lodz is an organization based on strong ideological pillars, which directs our activities. These are: Christian tradition in Europe, which gives this continent strengths to face the global challenges of XXI century, idea of municipality minimum – where central authority limits itself to fulfilling the most important social obligations and civil capitalism – economical system, in which fruits of work are consumed by citizens and not by oligarchic system. Respect for values such as tradition, religion, family and law in social issues together with minimal interference of authorities into economy make us one of the few important centers of conservative ideology in Poland and Eastern Europe.

Our actions are concentrated among stimulating citizens of our city to civil activities. To achieve these goals we organize a public debate about the future of Lodz and ideas for its development. Project Lodz cooperates with government and many national and international organizations such as New Atlantic Initiative established by American Enterprise Institute and National Democratic Institute for International Affairs in terms of conducting research about urban issues and developing democracy. We are devoted to bring something which is desperately needed in the city of Lodz – the hope for its citizens. The hope that somebody cares, has a vision and is able to manage with charisma, courage and optimism in the city which is closest to our hearts than anything else.
